Become a Financial Futures Coach

Financial Futures volunteer coaches play a vital role in helping women learn money management skills while achieving their financial goals. 

Women United's investment in Financial Futures is in partnership with Women's Money Matters. Financial Futures helps women transform their lives by developing a foundational understanding of personal finances and a focus on financial goals. Through the coach/mentee relationship, participants receive individualized support and encouragement to address their unique goals and challenges. 

Role of a Financial Futures Coach: 

Support women in Greater New Bedford to overcome challenges and achieve their financial goals by:

  • Participating in Financial Futures weekly workshops alongside participant. (Programs run 12 consecutive weeks with occasional breaks for holidays and school vacations.)
  • Providing 1:1 coaching and mentorship, guidance, and encouragement to a program participant. 
  • Connecting virtually or in-person with mentee between weekly sessions; schedule and approach based on you and your participant's preference and availability.
  • Sharing your expertise and experiences to inspire and empower program participants. 
  • Collaborating with the program leads and fellow volunteers to create a positive and supportive learning environment. 

Requirements:

  • A passion for empowering women and promoting personal growth.
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude.
  • Availability for coaching sessions during the 12-week program.
  • Commitment to United Way and Women’s Money Matters mission and values.
  • Previous coaching or mentoring experience is a plus but not required.
  • Financial expertise is a plus but not required.
