Supporting New Moms Through Baby Bundles & Community Baby Showers
Welcoming a new baby is an exciting milestone—but it can also bring added stress, especially for families facing financial challenges. Since 2018, United Way of Greater New Bedford’s Women United has been easing that burden by providing essential baby items to moms in need through our Baby Bundles initiative.
To date, over 1,000 Baby Bundles have been thoughtfully packaged and distributed in partnership with local organizations, offering new and expecting moms a bit of extra support during this important time.
In 2024, we expanded our efforts by launching the Community Baby Shower—an event created to offer more than just essentials. Designed to capture the joy and celebration of a traditional baby shower. The event invites new and expecting moms—referred by our trusted community partners—to enjoy a memorable day complete with baby gifts, helpful resources, and fun activities for the whole family.
