Sarah W. Rose serves as the Chief Impact Officer at the United Way of Greater New Bedford, where she spearheads strategic initiatives to enhance community capacity across several key areas including healthy community, youth opportunity, financial security, and community resiliency. In her role, she actively engages in community leadership initiatives, oversees grants and services to nonprofit organizations, and is responsible for Financial Wellness at Work, Family Resource and Development Center, New Bedford Community Connections Coalition, and Patch.
Prior to her current position, Sarah served as the Director of Engagement at the SouthCoast Community Foundation. She holds a BA from Wheaton College, an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business, and an MEd from Simmons University. She is on The Bristol New Bedford Advisory Board, Massachusetts Early Childhood Funder Collaborative Steering Committee, and serves on the Board of Directors of Island Health Project and Henry L Ferguson Museum.
Sarah fell in love with Greater New Bedford when she and her family moved to the area ten years ago. She admires how through three waves of immigration, this port City has found strength and fortitude from the people who call it home. Sarah loves biking on the Rail Trail, boating on Buzzards Bay, kayaking on the Slocum, and swimming in Clark's Cove year-round.
