SNAP, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, is the nation’s largest food security program, supporting 42 million Americans- including children, veterans, working families, seniors, and people with disabilities. Yet the average daily SNAP benefit is only $6.16 per person, barely enough for a single day’s nutrition. Beyond the immediate human impact, SNAP also fuels our local economy—contributing roughly $220 million each month in Massachusetts alone.
