SAILS Library Network – Museum Passes 
Did you know many public libraries offer free or discounted passes to local museums and attractions? Through the SAILS Library Network, you can reserve passes for venues like the Buttonwood Park Zoo, New Bedford Whaling Museum, Boston Children’s Museum, and more! It's a budget-friendly way to plan fun family day trips all summer. All you need is your library card!

SNAP/EBT Card to Culture Program 
Families who receive SNAP/EBT benefits can enjoy free or discounted access to hundreds of cultural venues, including museums, historic sites, zoos, theaters, and more in Massachusetts! This is an excellent way to make arts and culture accessible to everyone. 
•    Bring your EBT card to any participating venue and ask about the program.

New Bedford Summer Sound Series 
The New Bedford’s Summer Sound Series transforms downtown into a hub of music and celebration on select Friday nights. This event series invites everyone to experience free outdoor concerts spanning genres from jazz and blues to reggae and funk. 
These block party-style gatherings are perfect for music lovers looking to dance, enjoy local beverages, and take in the beautiful sites of historic downtown.

New Bedford’s “Play in the Park & Summer Food Program
The Play in the Park and Summer Food Service Program promotes health, wellness, nutrition, and outdoor activity during the summer months for youth ages 0-18.  The goal is to get youth to be active, get outside, have fun, and eat healthy during the summer months! Beginning in June 2025. 

•    Free Meals – Nutritious lunches and dinners are served to all children ages 0–18, no registration required. 
•    Fun Activities – Sites include games, sports, arts and crafts, and other outdoor experiences designed to keep kids healthy and social.


August Adventures – Highland Street Foundation 
Set a reminder to check out the August Adventures from Highland Street Foundation! Throughout the month of August, the Highland Street Foundation partners with cultural institutions across Massachusetts to offer free admission to museums and attractions. Each day of the month features a different location, allowing families to explore new places without worrying about the cost. It’s a great way to explore new places!
