An Alera Group partner and manager of Sylvia Group’s Employee Benefits and Financial Planning division, Rose Lopes has almost 20 years years of industry experience working with businesses and individuals to design programs that fit their strategic plans and goals. Her designs for health, dental, disability, life, long-term care and travel insurance coverage help clients protect their investments and provide security for the people they care about most.
Rose previously worked with AIG Insurance and Investors Bank & Trust Company in Boston and before entering the insurance industry she served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps. During her tenure in the Marine Corps, she was honored with multiple commendations and medals, including the National Defense Service Medal, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, a Commandant of the Marine Corps Letter of Recognition and other awards.
Whether working with individuals and families or businesses interested in employee benefits, buy/sell or key employee life and disability insurance, Rose provides clients the guidance and advice needed to navigate what can be a complex market. She earned her Registered Health Underwriter (RHU), Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations through the American College of Financial Services.
The current secretary and past president of the board of directors for the Veterans Transition House in New Bedford, Rose also services on the boards of the SouthCoast Chamber of Commerce where she is on the Executive Committee, the United Way of Greater New Bedford where she is also a member of the Greater New Bedford’s Citizens Review Team, and A’s b4, a nonprofit providing mentoring to youth.
