This spring has been a powerful reflection of what can happen when women come together with purpose. Through events, programs, and shared commitment, Women United continues to elevate and strengthen women across Greater New Bedford through education, action, and philanthropy.
The momentum was especially visible at this year’s Power of the Purse, Women United’s signature event, where fun and fashion meets philanthropy. With over 350 women in attendance, the event delivered a memorable experience while helping generate critical funding for initiatives focused on early childhood success, early literacy and financial literacy.
The impact of Women United’s work took the spotlight in March when another Financial Wellness for Women cohort graduated. Over the course of 10 weeks, participants built essential financial skills - including budgeting, credit management, and long-term planning - while receiving individualized encouragement from volunteer coaches. The program continues to empower women to strengthen their financial confidence and work toward lasting economic stability. To date 70 women have completed the program.
In May, Women United leaders and guests came together at the Country Club of New Bedford for the annual Women United Gathering providing an opportunity to reconnect, reflect on the year’s impact, and strengthen the relationships that drive this work forward. As a growing network of passionate women committed to collective impact, these moments of connection are just as important as the programs themselves.
Together, these milestones highlight the power of Women United - bringing people, resources, and purpose together to create real opportunities and lasting change throughout the Greater New Bedford community.
