This month, we are proud to shine a spotlight on Nelson Tavares, the President & CEO of Taunton Federal Credit Union and member of the Board of Directors at United Way of Greater New Bedford. With over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, Nelson is an accomplished credit union executive who has dedicated his career to supporting and enhancing financial wellness in our community.
Nelson has been an active campaign volunteer, first as a Loaned Executive for the 2010/2011 campaign at UWGNB
and then serving on the board at United Way of Greater Attleboro/Taunton, where he has played a vital role in promoting initiatives that uplifted local families and individuals. His commitment to financial literacy and empowerment extends to his position on the Advisory Board for the Financial Wellness at Work (FWW) program.
A strong advocate for FWW, Nelson has been instrumental in our partnership with Taunton Federal Credit Union to support the small-dollar loan component of the program. This collaboration is crucial in helping employees access financial resources to address unexpected emergencies and achieve their financial goals.
