The plan calls for the following three goals:
- Establish measurable community impact strategies and collaborate with partners to catalyze equitable outcomes.
- Leverage our unique role in the region to grow participation and support through proactive engagement with current and potential partners, donors, and volunteers.
- Build our organizational strength and agility.
Moving forward, to guide our prioritization for transformative change, these goals will be integrated into newly organized impact areas of Healthy Community, Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Community Resilience.
Of course, like all strategic plans, the real work lies ahead of us, and our focus is on transitioning smoothly from planning to action. We're committed to turning our strategies into concrete results that advance our mission.
The first step in our implementation is to create a Community Impact Agenda in support of Goal 1. To bring this goal to life, we are working with a nationally recognized planning consultant, David Moore. Quite simply, we are evaluating what we do, naming what changes we strive to achieve, and determining the appropriate pathways forward. These pathways will highlight areas of focus and may suggest areas where reduced effort is warranted.
We are also engaging a process to set clear and measurable strategies to ensure meaningful contribution to community impact. As a United Way, we have a unique range of tools to use – from funding and programs, to initiative coordination, to convening and connecting resources. We are identifying which activities and roles to focus on in particular issue areas to ensure the highest likelihood of impact. During this process, we shared our emerging impact framework with key informants who have helped us understand the opportunities and risks in pursing the newly identified strategies. We are carefully examining these inputs and finalizing our strategies with clear timelines and transition plans to maximize our chances of success.
