For many women, financial challenges can feel overwhelming and isolating. That’s why the role of a Financial Wellness Coach is so powerful. Volunteer coaches are at the heart of Women United’s Financial Wellness For Women program, offering support, encouragement, and real-life perspective as women work toward greater financial confidence and stability.

As a coach, you’re not expected to be a financial expert. Instead, you’re a mentor - someone who listens, shows up, and helps participants apply what they’re learning to their own lives. Through this relationship, women gain the confidence to set goals, face challenges, and take meaningful steps forward.

Women United’s investment in financial literacy is about more than budgets and credit scores. It’s about empowering women in Greater New Bedford with a foundational understanding of personal finance and the belief that change is possible. The coach-participant connection creates space for individualized support, helping each participant navigate her unique circumstances while staying focused on what matters most to her.

Throughout the 10-week program, coaches attend weekly workshops alongside participants and connect with them between sessions - either virtually or in person - based on what works best for both. Coaches offer guidance, encouragement, and accountability, while also collaborating with program staff, presenters, and fellow volunteers to create a welcoming and supportive learning environment.

If you’re a woman who wants to lift up another woman, this role is the role for you. Financial Wellness for Women Coaches are patient, open-minded, and compassionate. They are good listeners, thoughtful communicators, and willing to share their own experiences to inspire and empower others. No financial background is required - just a commitment to showing up and supporting someone on her journey.

The next Financial Wellness for Women cohort kicks off on Tuesday, January 13, and meets Tuesdays from 6 - 7:30 PM for 10 weeks. By volunteering as a coach, you can make a meaningful difference in a woman’s life while building connection, community, and purpose along the way.

If you’re ready to give back in a way that truly matters, consider becoming a Financial Wellness Coach. Sometimes, walking alongside someone is all it takes to help them move forward. Click here to learn more or sign up today.
