Abel Cruz is the Administrative Specialist at United Way of Greater New Bedford. In his role, Abel supports clients through the Family Resource Center by connecting them with services and support. His work plays an important role in ensuring individuals and families can access the resources they need.
Abel is fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, helping strengthen communication and accessibility across the diverse communities of Greater New Bedford. Outside of work, he volunteers with the Salvation Army, continuing his dedication to service beyond the office.
When asked what he enjoys most about the Greater New Bedford area, Abel highlights the area’s multicultural character, rich history, and vibrant food scene. He especially values the opportunity his role provides to connect directly with the community and help others.
In his free time, Abel enjoys taking walks, watching movies, and cooking. He also has a creative side - he can sing and draw, a fun fact many people may not know.
