
What is Lantern?
Lantern provides expert-curated tips, engaging activities, and trusted, evidence-based resources via text messages to help families support their children's healthy development from pregnancy through the preteen years.
What kind of content is distributed?
- Age-based messages have been curated in collaboration with experts in the child development field and include tips, conversation starters, learning games and activities, and much more!
- Topic-based messages allow families to choose what matters most to them like cooking, math, and more.
- Location-based messages are created in partnership with organizations like YOU in Greater New Bedford!
How can we partner?
Organizations in the Greater New Bedford area serving children and families are invited to utilize Lantern as a free tool for sharing information and events!
Community organization messages must meet the following criteria and must link to additional information:
- Healthy child development information and resources, from birth to preteen
- Event or series of events focused on families
- Free or low-cost event or resources
To submit a message for Lantern, fill out the form below. Here's what to know:
- We require a minimum of ten days’ notice to approve and schedule messages.
- Messages have a 140 character limit. Make your message concise, name your organization, and use inviting language.
- All messages must be accompanied by a link to your website, flyer for an event, or registration page.
- Messages will be translated into Spanish & Arabic as needed.
Can we promote Lantern with families we work with?
YES! We encourage you to promote Lantern within your network- friends, family, coworkers, clients, etc. Anyone caring for a child is welcome to join! We are also happy to supply you with rack cards, digital posters, social media, and more to help with promotion. Click here to learn more about Lantern for families.
