Stan joined the United Way in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in international business and a master’s of social work. He is certified in Nurturing Families and Nurturing Fathers. He is also certified in the SOAR model (SSI/SSDI Outreach and Access to Recovery).
A longtime surfer, he is chair of the Rhode Island Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation. He enjoys the beauty and culture of Greater New Bedford, along with the willingness of people to do good things for the community. In addition to surfing, he enjoys running, trivia, fantasy football and is an avid international soccer fan.
He has a picture in his office of Michael Scott, the character from the TV comedy “The Office” who took credit for Stan’s favorite quote. “It reminds me to keep laughing and keep taking chances,” he says.
