Maria joined the UWGNB in September 2022 as a Parent Support Educator working with parents and families served by United Way.
She is certified as a Medical Spanish Interpreter and Medical Assistant, and holds an associate’s degree. She speaks both English and Spanish. She also volunteers with AmeriCorps as a family support assistant because she says she can relate to other families that have been struggling with their children with their parenting skills. “I believe I can bring some kind of support to these parents and I can also learn more from them,” she says.
Maria loves the rich history of the Greater New Bedford area, as well as its beaches and easy access to Martha’s Vineyard. She loves to dance and has a passion for boxing.
