United Way touches more people and impacts more lives than any other nonprofit organization - anywhere. From children and teens to families in crisis and the elderly, United Way of Greater New Bedford works hard to improve lives in our community.

Your gift goes where it is needed most. United Way of Greater New Bedford has served our region since 1953 - we know the area and we know the entire spectrum of needs. When you give to United Way, your donation stays here in our community and helps our neighbors in need. Your contributions help fund 28 local health and human service agencies.

Giving to United Way is the most effective way to make your charitable dollar count. United Way currently assesses administrative costs of 13 center per dollar, while the Better Business Bureau indicates that it is fair for non-profits to spend up to 35 cents per dollar on administrative costs.

See the positive impact of your donation. United Way of Greater New Bedford evaluates each of our agencies to ensure that they are making the best possible use of donor dollars. Each year, teams of unpaid volunteers conduct site visits and evaluations of agencies.
Here are some of the ways your donations are making a difference.

Donate at work. Many companies partner with United Way of Greater New Bedford for our annual campaign each fall. More than 100 volunteers work in every facet of this campaign, enabling United Way to effectively raise money for targeted program areas. Approximately 60 percent of the money we raise comes from workplace giving campaign.
